What to paint first and what later to avoid splashes and stains, the necessary steps on painting a room in an orderly and neat way.
When you paint an inhabited house, with furniture and others, it is better to go working by sectors, environment by environment. In this way, you focus on a single sector so that it can be occupied immediately when the work is finished, or at least when the paint has dried and allows its occupation.
Now in each sector or environment, you must also follow an order to avoid accidental stains or spills. Do the job in a practical way, and to recover the environment as soon as possible.
Step 1: vacate the environment and protect surfaces.
For you to work comfortably in any space, especially in the smallest, the best option is to remove everything that bothers you. Remove furniture, curtains, rugs, anything that stains or could cause an accident. What cannot go outside you gather them in the middle of the room to be able to paint the walls comfortably? Cover with old sheets and plastic to prevent staining.
Step 2: Start painting the ceilings.
The first thing to paint is the ceiling or ceiling, in the event that drops fall that splash the walls, these will then be sanded and covered by the color of the wall.
To paint the ceilings, some things can help you like:
- paint between two people
- use sticks or roller extensions
- use special ladders for a painter
- apply paint with anti-drip rollers
Step 3: Continue with the walls.
The order you should follow when painting a small or narrow wall is the same as the writing, that is, from left to right and from top to bottom—painting the edges or “cutting” just before painting.
Step 4: the time for frames, doors, and windows
If you have also decided to renew the openings, this will be the third step in the complete painting of the environment. It is likely that there are stains of the plastic paint on the walls; it is time to remove them with the pre-paint sanding. It would be nice to cover the edges with painter’s tape to avoid staining outside the opening in question.
Step 5: the floors at the end
The floors, or floors, must be the last area to be painted, for which you must remove everything from the room and carry out the corresponding surface treatment.
